Writing
Here are some of my favorite online articles I have published, by category:
News

I wrote this article after driving past the accident and wondering what had caused it. I was not in school at the time and decided to try to go on the Cypress Bay campus to try to get a first-hand perspective. I wrote this article in an hour so it could be one of the first pieces of published journalism about the event, and it gained over 200 views in the first 24 hours.
Opinion
After finding out about the Honor Roll breakfast change, I posted a poll on @ipatriotpost on Instagram, and received over 90 responses. When I finished my article, I asked for administration's P.O.V., to which they did not respond. After I published my article, they responded, and we addressed the update in a later article written by Nina Vieira. This article remains one of the most read of the school year, and the article most commented on. I am proud of showing administration that students do care, and I hope something can change from this.

My teacher always tells me to find inspiration in unexpected places, and I tried to do that with this article. Here, I was in the Keyes when I learned about the record-breaking heat destroying coral. I decided to go scuba diving and ask local marine biologists in the Marine Lab about their experience with the rising temperatures.
Investigative Article
I wrote this article as an assignment to write an Investigative Article. With strict coverage rules, many topics I found interesting such as the school's budgeting were ruled off limits. As someone who is friendly with all lunch ladies, I decided to use my article to feature them instead, as they work tirelessly to provide us with great food. It gave me not only a perspective to the inner workings of our school's cafeteria, but also taught me how to pursue interviews and how to phrase and ask somewhat uncomfortable questions.
Entertainment
Features
As a music girly, being able to review musical events while giving my own perspective is my favorite.
Sports
For my first article, I was assigned an EHAS, and I loved learning about Dylan. I was able to use more vivid descriptions in my first feature story, and I loved how I could paint his life with words.
Researching a sport I'm unfamiliar with AND being able to quote one of my favorite TV shows in an article: what better thing to write?!
Print article + Feedback

I reached out to Mr. Council for an interview, and after he saw my story in the print copy of The Patriot Post, he was ecstatic and shot me a quick email thanks.
My Online Profile
You can access all the articles I have every published online in the link above. I have published 91 articles online and have written around 30 for print (2-3 articles for every issue).
I am one of the staffers with the most articles published, second only to my print counterpart Zoe. I currently am the staffer who has published the most for only three years in newspaper class as well (an average of 30 articles a year, the most compared to any of my other staffers). Additionally, Zoe and I both have published more articles than the past three years of Patriot Post editors, helping set a high bar for the next generation of iPatriot.
